Optonics builds polymer SLS 3D printers with post-heat annealing for consistent material strength. We also run a manufacturing service for space applications, delivering flight-ready parts with full traceability.

We started Optonics as two engineering students staring at the same problem over and over again: getting reliable plastic parts was painfully slow, expensive, and often not good enough for real-world use. It wasn’t just a technical challenge, but it was holding back ideas we wanted to build. So instead of waiting for someone else to fix it, we decided to take it on ourselves.
In late 2024, we joined the Sparkup Incubator with little more than an idea and a belief that polymer Selective Laser Sintering could be both accessible and dependable. That step opened the door to something bigger. Just six months later, our progress led us to the European Space Agency’s Business Incubation Centre, one of the most respected programs in Europe, where we now continue building technology that meets the reliability standards of aerospace.

Optonics has been student-founded and student-led from the very beginning. We remain students today, which gives us a perspective larger companies often lack. We understand how difficult it can be for students to find meaningful opportunities, and we want Optonics to be a place where you don’t just observe from the sidelines but actively build, experiment, and grow.
What excites us most is where this work leads. The components designed and manufactured with our machine are not destined to sit on a shelf. They will fly on aircraft, travel aboard satellites, and become part of real missions. Imagine seeing your parts in space and knowing you played a role in getting them there.
Optonics is still small - and that’s exactly why joining now matters. Early members don’t just fill a role; they help shape the company itself. You’ll work side by side with founders, push prototypes into production, and see your contributions fly into real missions.

Reliability matters
Our annealing process delivers batch-to-batch consistency, and we apply the same discipline to engineering decisions.

Hands-on
Ideas are valuable, but the true measure of progress is the part you can hold in your hand.
